It’s a love story

ORIGIN

Andrew saw Angel in a comedy music video in 2011, and developed a crush. He followed her on Twitter and Facebook but never sent her a message or made a move. Twelve years later, they matched on a dating app!

IT’S A LOVE STORY

Their first date was on a wine farm and what was meant to be a quick lunch turned into seven hours of laughter and conversation that they never wanted to end.

CHAMPIONS

Their second date was to watch the Rugby World Cup quarter-final. After the Springboks knocked out France, Andrew knocked out Angel with a French kiss. Their first kiss! And the rest? Well it ends with a ‘champagne safari’ proposal, which brings us to now:

Arrival

Please plan to arrive by 2:30pm at the latest so that you can get a drink, be fabulous, and find a seat before the start of the ceremony.

The ceremony

This is the moment Andrew and Angel have been dreaming of. Since Angel saw her first shooting star as a little girl, her first and only wish was for a love like this. Since Andrew first saw Angel, she was his only wish. Please happy cry along with them. There will be a ring warming, a golden retriever, bridesmaids, groomsmen and lots of joy. It’s all going down the way they’ve always dreamed.

The celebration

Once they are officially hitched, it’s time to celebrate. The venue is all outside on lawns, we will be together under the sunset and the stars — there will be no formal dinner seating, just plenty of food stalls to choose from, casual seating, live music as well as a DJ with areas to dance and mingle or relax and chat. There will be a first dance (we’ve been in training!) as well as speeches and a cake cutting. We will boogie until midnight (but you can leave whenever you’d prefer).

Farewell lunch

We have a block reservation at HICKVILLE SMOKEHOUSE on the N2 from 12 noon. If you’re staying in the area, please join us for a casual lazy lunch as we reminisce and share stories from the night before.

Getting there

South Hill is around 67 km from Cape Town on the N2. Allow about an hour travel time, plus a little extra for Saturday traffic.

Staying over

Rather than rushing home, consider staying the night — there are lots of lovely accommodation options nearby in the Elgin and Grabouw area. It’s a busy season, so we’d suggest booking early.

Getting home

There’s ample parking on site at South Hill (a reminder that the last 1km is a smooth dirt road). Should you want to organise transport from your accommodation, some good services in the area are:

What time should I arrive?

By 2:30 PM at the latest. Welcome drinks begin from 2:00 PM and the ceremony starts at 3:00 PM.

Parking is available at the venue. We recommend arranging a lift or shuttle from your accommodation if you plan to celebrate fully.
